MN Twins

Sunday, 7/29/12. A nice day to attend a MN Twins game!  Panoramic view taken with my phone's camera.

Matthew and I enjoying the game.  (This was before my face resembled a lobster red hue due to sunburn)

Annual Carlos Trip

The weekend of the 13th Laura, Sebastian, his friend Jason, Matt, and I took a trip to Carlos State Park in Alexandria.  It was the last camping trip with Sebastian before he goes off to college in September. Camping at Carlos has been a tradition of ours since our parents took us there every year growing up.

Jason, Sebastian, and Matthew setting up Polish golf.  Fun camping game!

Laura putting together burgers and kabobs for dinner...mmm...

Sort of goofy panoramic photo of us hanging out by the fire.

The temps were climbing into the 90's again, so we decided to hit the beach to cool off.  The boys taking a refreshing dip in Lake Carlos.

Shelby in mid sprint after her frisbee.

Laura and I catching some rays!

Back at camp... Scrabble!  A camping favorite... and of course, Laura always wins!

Matthew and I

Laura and I clowing around for the camera....

...and givin' the bird!

Sebastian and Matt playing bags... another fun camping game!

On Saturday, July 14, we all took a trip to Carlos Creek Winery.  Matt and I enjoying the afternoon at the Winery.

WINE!!

The Winery has a life size chess board that people can play.  Sebastian, pondering his next move against his friend Jason.

Sebastian and Jason

Say cheese, hag!

Group photo at the Winery.  Jason, Matt, me, Laura, and Sebastian.

Funny photos!  In front of the Winery barrel.

We're a bunch of Winos!

Later that night; a "mock burning" in honor of Andy, who really burned my face at Carlos a few years ago.  On accident, of course.  :)

Cool shots of the campfire

Can you see the face in this fire? ( Green flame, off to the right.)

After the Rain

After a much needed relief in the hot streak from last week, I went out and snapped some quick shots with my phone camera after the rain.

Phlox in the yard

Annual African Daisy

This rainbow didn't last very long.  I was lucky to catch a shot of it before it faded.

Dogsitting

Last week I spent a week dogsitting for my good friends. We had a chance to have lots of fun with my four legged furry buddies!

Matt playing ball with Maggie!

Matt's new best friend....Deacon!

Buddies!

On one afternoon, we took the dogs to Battle Creek Park.  They had a large fenced in dog park, where we took the dogs for a stroll.  They loved it!  Deacon had a great time rolling in the dirt.

It was rather warm, so Maggie was happy to see this pond!  Enjoying a swim, while playing with a frisbee as well.
My furry friends!

Taking a break to cool off and hydrate!

The following day we took the dogs for an afternoon trip to William O'Brian State Park.  How's Matt's driving, Deacon?
Taking a rest for a photo op at the park.  :)

Back to the 50's

I've been falling behind on getting some events posted!  A couple of weekends ago we visited the "Back to the 50's" car show at the St. Paul Fairgrounds.  There were thousands of antique cars there to view!  I captured a fraction of them on my camera phone; some of my favorites.  Don't know many of their names, but they are classy!

Cool orange interior!

A matching trailer.

The gas tank, which resembles a keg

Nice shift stick!

My favorite pick... a Chevy Nova!

Cool hood ornament

Quite the low rider...

With eyes!

Fancy grill....

To this beauty!

The streets lined with classics; sure to make you step back in time!

A Rat Rod....

Fit for a Pirate!  Aarrr!

This was in interesting one.  We talked to the gentleman who owned this classic.  It's actually an S10 truck with a classic Studabaker body on it.  The interior looks like a current truck would.

Great color!

An old cop car

Tail lights on a classic cop car

Another sweet ride!  My second favorite find at the show.

Another cool chevy hood ornament.

Cool detail

Very cool, but narrow looking classic

Flames

A Rat Rod driven by, well, rats!

Why can I picture someone like Hitler driving this?

Bad Ass!

Hood ornament favorite #3

Who ya gonna call?!

Ghostbusters!!

Note the plate of food...

Flames!!

A Rat Rod, with a new use for finished bottles ( and cans ) of alcohol!

Why toss the bottle, when you can use it on an engine?

Fancy exhaust
