St. Anthony High School Bowling

This weekend was the High School Bowling State Championship playoffs.  Though they didn't win state, and were somewhat screwed out of their chance at doing so, my nephew Sebastian and the rest of his bowling team finished overall 7th out of 24 teams.  Great job guys!!!

A bit fuzzy taken with my phone, but the team awaiting bowling.  Taylor, Matt, Jimmy, Sebastian, Joey, and Matt.

Lined up while the National Anthem was being sung.  They bowled their hearts out that day!!

My nephew Sebastian getting ready to bowl his turn.  He does a great job!!!  :)

Memories of December past

I was going through old emails, deleting unecessary ones, when I found a few oldies that gave me a chuckle.  Decided to share them!

A former co-worker of mine, Emily.  One year for her birthday, we decided to bombard her with silly string during our work break.  Needless to say, we got her good!

Emily cocooned in silly string

Me and my baby....back in the cave days!!  Tic and I had some good memories there....and he was always there to keep me company. :)

December 2005 or 2006, I think.  Sebastian with Earl; me with Tic.  My how time flies!!

The dual "Terminator" look.... ha!

T.P. for my playtime...

Pepper, my parent's cat, decided to have a hayday with the toilet paper roll.  As you can see, she shredded it to bits!

I don't think this roll is salvageable...

Bowling Champ!

This past Friday my nephew and his bowling team played for state championship.  They were currently #1 undefeated in the state!  Though the games were great and super close!, they didn't quite qualify, but have a shot of going to state yet after the next play-offs in Duluth this coming weekend. But great job to the team for their great season so far!

Saturday night my mom, who was up for a visit, myself, and nephew went bowling.  Here, my nephew, taking a break from his normal serious bowling.  His average is 190!

He looks like an ape!  hahaha!

Some shots of my nephew in action....

His arm looks 8 feet long!

Ha, when caught in motion, my nephew looks like gumbi!

Where's his head?  ha!

Caught a pic of my mom in bowling action....sorry mom!  At least I didn't put the other one up!!!  :P

Fall camping along the North Shore- October

Falll is perhaps the perfect time to travel up north along the North Shore to do some camping.  Not too hot, not too cold, and the colors are amazing!  I posted my best ones on my state park blog as well....check them out!
My first morning at camp; it was a beautiful fall morning.

At my large campsite...all to myself!

Oberg Mountain hiking trail; Lake Superior on the left.

More overlooks along Oberg Mountain

Beautiful scenery and overlooks

Color, color, color!!!

Gorgeous!!

Back to camp from the Oberg Mountain hike...lunch time!  Enjoying a grilled cheese sandwhich and soup.

A visitor!  This friendly little guy, whom I named "Wilson" was proven to be quite a brave little buggar.  He climbed right up my leg to sit upon my lap to eat some bread.

Stuffing his face!!

A friendly little companion for my trip.  :)

With a little daylight left, I decided to hike along the Superior Hiking Trail next to the Temperance River to soak up the scenery.  The raging Temperance River.

Part of the Temperance River.... down to a low stream.

Temperance River nearing sundown.

Well worth the 3.5 mile hike!

Back down at the bottom again. The Temperance River with some added "rock art".

Tree hugger. :)  I love nature!

Relaxing back at camp for another chilly evening, warmed by the fire.  My last night at Temperance River State Park.

Warmth!

The Silver Bay tunnel on the drive back home to the cities.

I stopped at Tettegouche State Park on the way back home to check out the park for a bit.  I've never visited this one yet, and decided to hike a few short trails within the park.

An overlook exposing the Baptism River.
